Never used one before?
You push and pull against it, and the springs give you resistance and support at the same time. That is what makes it low impact and full body, and what separates it from a mat class.
They do not work like normal weights. The further you stretch them, the heavier the resistance gets, so you are working through every inch of the movement.
You get stronger and more toned without the extra strain on your body, which is why reformer work suits knees, backs and everyone coming back from a long gap.
Spring resistance is adjustable on every machine, so the same class works for someone on their first ever session and someone who comes four times a week.
Five classes, one room
Everything runs on the same seven reformers, on a ladder that goes Beginner, then Intermediate, then Dynamic. If you have never used a reformer, start with Reformer Beginner.

Right for you if: You have never been on a reformer.
Your instructor takes you through the equipment step by step, so you know what every spring, strap and footbar does before you use it.
Modifications and progressions run through the whole class, so nothing is out of reach.

Right for you if: You know the machine and want more flow and coordination.
Longer sequences and more coordination, with the alignment and intentional-movement cues Genevieve builds her classes around.
Step up when the beginner class stops feeling like a puzzle.

Right for you if: You want pace, and you already know your way round the springs.
Faster transitions and less rest on the same seven reformers.
The springs get heavier the further you stretch them, which is exactly where the burn comes from.

Right for you if: Your baby is 0 to 12 months and you are not ready to leave them.
A safe play space sits alongside the reformers and you supervise your own baby throughout. It's a relaxed, supportive environment where you don't have to choose between self-care and childcare.
£28 per class, babies 0 to 12 months.

Right for you if: You want to move well without joint impact.
Spring resistance set light and progressed slowly, with posture corrected while you move.
Annette, three months in, reports improved balance and aches and pains much reduced.
Stratheden Parade, SE3
Seven AlignPilates reformers in one room, arched mirrors along one wall and tall sash windows along the other. Step in and you can see the whole class from anywhere in it.

Getting here
We are on the parade at Blackheath Standard, not Blackheath Village. One room, seven reformers, and that is the whole studio.
Arrive five minutes early so we can set your reformer up. Once a class has started we cannot let anyone in, and grip socks are required.

After 3 months I feel so much better, balance is improved and aches and pains much reduced.
The class is low impact by design. Spring resistance is set light and progressed slowly, and the instructor corrects your posture while you are moving rather than afterwards.

It's just one hour.
Every price we charge is on this page. Start on the intro offer, then pick a membership or a class pack once you know how often you want to come.

Reformer Beginner. Your instructor takes you through the machine step by step before anything starts, and every movement has a modification if you need one.
Not at all. Our classes are beginner-friendly, with modifications and progressions offered throughout, and you build strength, flexibility and confidence at your own pace.
It is for new clients. You buy the pack, then book your three classes through Mindbody, and you have 21 days to use them. There is a 5 classes for £99 version if you want a little longer.
Fitted, comfortable clothing and grip socks. Grip socks are required, and we sell them at the studio if you do not have a pair. Arrive five minutes early to settle in, because for safety we cannot let anyone into a reformer class once it has started.
Seven. That is how many reformers are in the room, so it is a hard cap. It is also the reason your instructor can watch how you move and correct you as you go.
No. We have left ClassPass. Everything is booked direct now, either on this site or through the Mindbody app.
Tashan, Genevieve, Hollie and Ying. Tashan puts it like this: “I don’t expect perfection, just for my clients to feel safe, supported and to notice progression.” Genevieve: “I emphasise alignment, dynamic flow, and intentional movement, creating classes that feel both grounded and energising.”
Memberships are monthly and auto-renewing, with a three month minimum. Class packs expire one month after you first use them. The intro offer has no commitment at all beyond the 21 day window.
